Basic Function
Under direction, performs manual labor and first level supervisory work directing the activities of workers performing a variety of manual labor in the construction and maintenance of city streets and storm sewer infrastructure, equipment and facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Organizes and directs the maintenance, repair, and construction of highways, bridges, streets, alleys, curbs, storm drain infrastructure, public sidewalks, and public parking lots
Schedules and assigns crews and equipment, prepares reports and maintains records of equipment and work performed
Maintains, repairs, and installs street signs, City owned street lights, and traffic control devices
Performs, supervises, and schedules street sweeping, lawn mowing, pipe laying, and storm sewer cleaning
Oversees the storage and installation of banners and decorations in a timely manner
Drives vehicles and operates equipment
Performs additional duties as assigned, including supervisory duties in other departments as needed
