DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyze records for completeness and confirm questions with providers as needed.
2. Sequence and code ICD-10 diagnoses and CPT procedures to expedite medical information to the electronic billing system for Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payors. This includes all provider charges from hospitals, nursing homes, and various diagnostic tests.
3. Attend annual compliance training and will be responsible for completing all required CEUs each year.
4. Maintain knowledge of medical terminology.
5. Continues to update knowledge of coding guidelines and practices and Medicare and Medicaid requirements.
6. Correctly and efficiently use designated reference materials.
7. Generate fee tickets and maintain fee tickets on the computer.
8. Track lost tickets from open ticket reports.
9. Code EKGs, Holter Monitors, Treadmills, and Tilt Table.
10. Code Anesthesia for billing.
11. Review billing denials.
12. Ensure good patient relations and forward applicable patient complaints to the appropriate management team member.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.
