In the Logistics Manager role, you will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the inventory and material handling for production as well as finished goods spanning the entirety of the production at the Iola, Kansas manufacturing plant. You will lead and develop the shipping, warehouse, and inventory accuracy teams which consists of a three-shift operation and additionally be responsible for safety, quality, process improvement and cost sensitivity within the Warehouse and Shipping departments.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the management of plant cleaning, sanitation, and compliance with GMP’s, Good Safety Practices, sanitation policies and procedures.

You will work to recommend, develop, and implement improvements in the warehouse, set expectations and direction for the warehouse team and build strategies for the peak season and the future growth.

This position, by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, is responsible for recommending, developing, implementing and managing safety, quality and food safety on all product lines.

This position will also participate as a leader in implementing Lindt Production Way and influencing a lean culture within the Manufacturing department at Russell Stover.

Scope of Responsibilities:

+ Accountable for inventory accuracy in all areas of the factory except semi-finished goods in KWIP, and PWIP.

+ Responsible for Shipping and Receiving accuracy

+ Accountable for the successful operations or raw material and finished goods warehouses over a 24 -hour period.

+ Coaches, develops, and provides timely feedback to the warehouse team

+ Direct the activities for continuous improvement in quality, safety, schedule adherence, costs, waste, and training

+ Supervise and motivate plant’s employees by setting a good example regarding attitude, work quality, safe practices, attendance, follow-through, and organization

+ Analyze material handling and storage problems and provide methods for solving problems to assure improved customer fulfillment

+ Ensure that the sanitation and housekeeping of assigned area is of the highest order and compliant with state and federal regulations as well as Russell Stover standards.

+ Provide training programs necessary to develop operational employee skills that are required to effectively operate and maintain all production (warehouse) equipment

+ Communicate effectively, all quality, safely, labor issues and production problems to appropriate audience

+ Communicate and coordinate department activities with manufacturing, maintenance, and production scheduling departments, to accomplish corporate objectives

+ Manage replenishment of production and packaging departments

+ Responsible for setting, tracking, and managing to the annual warehouse budget and defining areas of opportunity and gap analysis

+ Responsible for insuring efficiency and accuracy objectives are met for both the department and individuals in the department

+ Provide insight to and advise on third party management

+ Responsible for cross-functional communications and interaction to resolve problems and enhance busine ss processes. This role interacts with all department throughout the facility

+ Lead key supply chain and corporate projects as assigned by the Director

+ Work with the Inventory Specialist to insure the accurate receipt, inventory, and shipping of our products

+ Oversee cycle and full counts for all inventory in the warehouse and production plant, reconcile and record and do root cause analysis.
