Thrivent Financial Communication and Marketing Specialist in Johnson County Area/Overland Park, Kansas
The Communication and Marketing Specialist, known internally as Engagement Specialist (ES) is responsible for the internal and external communication plan and the activity implementation plans for the membership activity of Thrivent Member Network (TMN). The Engagement Specialist is part of the Community Engagement Team and reports to the Manager of Community Engagement. Responsibilities include: 1.Develop and implement TMN communication plan for regional membership2.Assist in the development and implementation of the membership and community engagement activities of the region 3.Leverage CRM tools to provide data and analytics for the membership activities of the network(s)
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Engagement Communication Plan
Develop and execute a strategic, region-wide member/prospective member communication plan, using multiple channels, including but not limited to: Market specific newsletters, social media, websites, email communications to membership
Create, send, and track all event related internal and external facing communications
With local and enterprise leadership, manage all aspects of TMN projects and partnerships with identified Christian organizations, non-profits and churches
Coordinate work among all stakeholders
Support the Manager of Community Engagement in providing reporting on event and communication results and progress toward TMN and engagement team success metrics
TMN and Engagement Event Execution
Create, plan, execute and manage a cadence of events within each specific geography, based on membership data, expressed needs and passions in that specific community and aligned to the strategy of the TMN board.
Coordinate all event logistics, including venue, catering, and contracts
Participate in planning meetings with potential community partners as needed to execute events with community partners
Develop work plans and action items according to project goals
Support execution of engagement activities including, but not limited to, workshops, events and webinars
Support post event follow-up, including timely documentation in SF of attendees, post event thank you’s, and communication with stakeholders so they can execute their post event follow up responsibilities
When appropriate, be present at planned events
Data and Analytics
Develop expert knowledge of Thrivent programs and resources, and the demographics of the region and markets the position serves
Complete all required activity reporting and analysis for engagement activities
Provide reports which help the Manager of Community Engagement and TMN board evaluate the impact of the engagement activities of the region
Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required or commensurate experience
3+ years experience utilizing social media platforms to deliver results
Strong project management and organizational skills
Ability to analyze data for business purposes
Effective communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills
Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel to events
Ability to work independently and effectively to manage multiple projects simultaneously in the face of ambiguity, shifting priorities, and rapid change
Knowledge of financial services industry, fraternal benefit societies, or membership organizations preferred
Other Critical Factors:
Ability to leverage the technical tools of the job, including Salesforce, event planning and communication tools, social media and digital tools
Willingness and ability to travel within the region to key markets
Ability to work evenings and weekends
