The Role You Play

The Mobile Crisis Manager supervises the development and day-to-day functions of the mobile crisis team over the 10-county Pawnee Mental Health service area. Mobile Crisis is a community-based intervention serving individuals in need wherever they are; including at home, work, or anywhere else in the community where the person is experiencing a crisis. Teams consist of Case Managers and Peer Support Specialists.

  • The Day-to-Day
    1. Respond to clients in crisis where they are (home, work, park, other community locations, ect) services will not be restricted to certain locations or times of day.
      • This will require the ability to drive to community settings, and navigate in areas which may not be easily accessible as the client needs.
    2. Connect clients with other crisis clinicians or facility-based care as needed; responding without law enforcement or EMS unless special circumstances warrant.
    3. Compile reports to ensure clients served are having referred services provided in a timely manner and meeting their unique needs.
    4. Gather and report on data for state and grant requirements.
    5. Hire, train, and evaluate a competent staff to perform mobile crisis services in the community, and ensure proper coverage.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
    1. Meet clinical and ethical documentation standards.
    2. Provide clinical support to the Crisis Stabilization Unit, including working unit shifts and being on call for clinical questions as assigned by Crisis Director.
    3. Triage and screen for suicidality, de-escalate and present resolutions, coordinate with medical/behavioral health services, and create a crisis plan and follow up.
