This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/ada/r/jobs/11401128 Principal - Magnet SchoolPurpose StatementThe job of Magnet School Principal is done for the purpose/s of providing professional leadership and oversight to organize, administer, supervise, and evaluate the comprehensive and innovative LDC school site; providing guidance and assistance to students; providing instructional leadership by emphasizing and instilling the goal for each student to become career ready; providing an educational environment with the opportunity for flexible schedules, online as well as blended learning opportunities; working with parents; supporting the instructional process with specific responsibility for directing overall site operations, services, and staff at a high school; partnering with the community, staff and administration of USD475 to accomplish all tasks and goals; providing information and serving as a resource to others; enforcing established policies and regulatory requirements; coordinating school activities; and addressing issues, situations and/or problems that arise on campus or with enrolled students.This job reports to Superintendent.Essential Functions Administer budgeting and related reports, associated with Title I D funding for ensuring compliance. Assist in receiving notification of custodies (e.g. students taken into Police Protective Custody and DCF Custody, etc.) for providing historical documentation and communication to all District Buildings. Collaborate with all stakeholders (e.g. juvenile issues in truancy, behaviors, probation, mental health needs, etc.) for ensuring open communication to meet student needs. Conduct all due process hearings for discipline and truancy, District wide for ensuring resolution and processing all written decisions as required. Coordinate Jobs for Americas Graduates Programming for the District (e.g. working with staff in presenting the yearly MOU for the JAG program, etc.) for ensuring implementation of processes necessary for graduate career opportunity. Delegate responsibility for a variety of administrative functions to Assistant Principal and other personnel for managing the workload more efficiently. Develop budgets and financial forecasts for providing financial guidance and recommendations to administrative personnel, Director of Student Support, Superintendent and/or governing Board. Direct lunchroom operation for providing satisfactory food service. Establish optimal learning environment for ensuring realization of desired learning and behavior outcomes. Evaluate assigned personnel (e.g. coordinating with Executive Director Personnel in hiring and removal of staff for cause, etc.) for ensuring that standards are achieved, and performance is maximized. Facilitate communication between personnel, students and/or parents for evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts. Guide all professional development (e.g. planning, coordinating, etc.) for ensuring optimal instructional excellence. Handle Worker Compensation issues for monitoring procedures and processes, providing for accurate resolution, professional growth and achieving reasonable outcomes. Implement staff supervision and classroom activities (e.g. at NCKRJDC and Geary County Secure Care Center, etc.) for providing direction and/or complying with mandated requirements. Manage school administrative functions (e.g. facility maintenance, budget, staffing, etc.) for maintaining safe and efficient school operations within district guidelines. Prepare a wide variety of materials (e.g. data reports, student activities, correspondence, etc.) for documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information. Present information (e.g. budget overviews, accounting processes, distribution formulas, etc.) for commu nicating information, gaining feedback and ensuring adherence to established internal controls. Provide curricular change leadership (e.g. organizing, administering, supervising and evaluating, etc.) for empowering learning outcomes for LDC. Represent the school within community forums for maintaining ongoing community support for educational goals and/or assisting with issues related to school environment. Research alternative funding sources for maintaining the efficient operation of the school. Serve as liaison (e.g. all District Truancy matters with 8th Judicial District, Department of Children and Families, community corrections, and Ft.
