Job Description Summary:
The Accountant II is responsible for the daily billing and collections efforts of the University. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant II will serve as the primary contact person for weekly billing and calling on outstanding receivable balances.

Job Duties
- Owns the Workday weekly billing process.
- Maintains responsibility for the timely collection/resolution of invoices and required customer invoice adjustments as directed.
- Prepare reserve analysis at the department level for review by the Accounting Manager.
- Works with the various Accounts Payable departments of other companies to identify, evaluate and resolve outstanding receivable balances.
- Responsible for reconciliation of reimbursement funds and billing engine fails
- Responsible for sending customer statements as directed.
- Assist in resolving problems or issues that have arisen related to cash or accounts receivable transactions. Work closely with team members to research any unknown or unclear outstanding items.
- Responsible for other monthly reconciliations as requested by the Accounting Manager.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Work Experience:
- Experience in Excel.
- Experience in a customer service role.
Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and other computer applications related to the position or assignment.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to manage deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a capable team player and able to adapt to various competing requirements.
- Must be able to work with moderate supervision displaying strong self-motivation.
- Must have the ability to effectively and appropriately interface and communicate with a variety of individuals or groups on a frequent basis.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
