We are seeking an outstanding candidate with a commitment to clinical care and experience in clinical research. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service. The candidate will be a member of The Jared Grantham Kidney Institute (KI) at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The KI is one of the leading basic science and clinical/translational kidney research centers in the country and receives over \$7 million in NIH funding annually. Existing areas of research strength include polycystic kidney diseases, glomerular development and diseases, mineral metabolism and health outcomes research.\ \ Job Duties Outlined:\ Provides outpatient and inpatient care at KUMC\ Provides training of residents, fellows, medical students\ Participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities.\ Embarks on a program of research\ \ Comprehensive Benefits Package: Coverage begins on day one for health, dental, and vision insurance and includes health expense accounts with generous employer contributions if the employee participates in a qualifying health plan. Employer-paid life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and various additional voluntary insurance plans are available. Paid time off, including vacation and sick, begins accruing upon hire, plus nine paid holidays. One paid discretionary day is available after six months of employment, and paid time off for bereavement, jury duty, military service, and parental leave is available after 12 months of employment. A retirement program with a generous employer contribution and additional voluntary retirement programs (457 or 403b) are available.\ MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: MD, DO or foreign degree equivalent; completion of an accredited residency in internal medicine and fellowship training program in nephrology required. Board certification required or obtainable within 6 months.
