Job Description:

Shift: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM


  • $24.73/hr. in first six months

  • $25.73/hr. after six months

  • $26.73/hr. final rate (after full year)

You will:

  • Receives work assignments, verbal and/or written instructions from supervision.

  • Receives parts or material to be machined, transported, painted and obtain necessary tools and gages as required.

  • Works from process documents, blueprints, written procedure or verbal instructions.

  • Checks machines and equipment for proper operation.

  • Sets up and operates machines using tools and equipment needed, selects proper speeds and feeds.

  • Positions part in machine, secure and align using hoist or crane.

  • Performs a variety of machining operations such as face, bore, turn, ream, thread, drill, tap, mill, chamfer, etc.

  • Accumulates and delivers parts for Pump Services Group and stocks material in racks, bins, etc.

  • Prepares pumps, parts, castings, patterns, etc. for domestic or export shipments and labels, weighs, loads, blocks freight, as instructed.

  • Perform operations such as receive material, check for damage, quantity, conformance to purchase order and prepare receiving report.

  • Check parts with measuring instruments and document as required, including creation of rough sketches.

  • Performs necessary material handling throughout sequence of operations and grinds own high-speed steel tool bits.

  • File burrs and stamp identification on parts as directed.

  • Assembles and disassembles pumping equipment as necessary.

  • Operates mobile equipment as directed.

  • Abrasive blast parts and equipment, deburr, file impellers, and operate coating line equipment as directed.

  • Build, inspect and test submersible motors for PSG.

  • Perform routine layout of PSG parts for machining.

  • Lubricates machines as required. Wipes and keeps machines, tools and workplace clean and remove chips from machines.

  • Checks and adds fuel, oil or water to mobile equipment as necessary and performs minor servicing to vehicles, such as change tires, check battery, etc. as required.

  • Sets up and operates welding machines and equipment used in fabrication, weld repairs, tack welds, brazes, solders, etc., on a variety of parts including but not limited to brass, steel, and cast iron materials.

  • Prepare production card or log sheet and turn into supervision.

  • Reports defective material and equipment to supervision.

  • Maintains good housekeeping by keeping the workplace, tools, material and equipment clean and in proper place. Observes all safety rules and watches for safety of others

You should:

  • Must be able to read bills-of-material and blueprints, as well as follow written or verbal instructions.

  • Must be able to operate mobile equipment as directed.

  • Must have previous experience with machining.

  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds from floor to waist.
