Job Title: Guidance Center Health Educator
Location: Kansas City , KS
The Guidance Center Health Educator, you will improve the overall health and well-being of our client’s members and local communities by facilitating educational classes, hosting and/or moderating webinars and interacting with members one-on-one in various markets across the country. A Health Educator is also responsible for facilitating training with internal associates in assigned local markets.
Facilitate health education programs to Medicare members and public in assigned local pharmacy locations and Guidance Centers and communities
Consult with individuals on their Health and Wellness needs and provide available resources to them
Collaborate to outline monthly activities in the assigned Guidance Centers
Oversee marketing of Health Education programs
Assess learning needs and motivate individuals to make healthy changes through all available interactions
Virtually present and/or moderate live webinars
Participate in ongoing content training sessions to learn new Health Education class content
Assist in creating and developing the Health Education content
Travel in assigned communities to facilitate and/or attend Health Education events
Quickly develop and maintain participant rapport in all interactions
Communicate program data and participant feedback to Manager via detailed reporting
Problem-solve and develop effective solutions within a fast-paced, matrixed environment
Organizing and manage multiple priorities and/or projects by using appropriate methodologies and tools
Develop, grow and foster collaborative relationships with internal and external partners
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5+ years of experience in effective delivery of Healthcare Education and/or Wellness programs (preferably with seniors)
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to work well with diverse groups and demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity
Previous experience in teaching, training, mentoring or facilitating
Exceptional interpersonal, public speaking and presentations skills
Strong attention to detail and exceptional follow up skills
Collaborate with various levels of the organization internally and community
Strong technical knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Bi-lingual English and Spanish (Fluent in both) is a plus
CHES/MCHES certification or the ability to obtain the certification based upon relevant education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in Health, Health Education, Nursing, Social Work, Education or another related field.
