Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity with a well established and growing company based in Kansas City, Kansas for a Controller. In this role, you will oversee accounting and financial operations, manage the accounting department and help with internal controls and efficiencies within the team. Responsibilities
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Manage the accounting department, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results
• Assist with forecasting and monitoring key financial metrics and performance indicators
• Implement and maintain accounting software systems and processes
• Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger
• Ensure compliance with all accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate and manage internal and external audits
• Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and investments
• Oversee inventory accounting for various departments
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to achieve departmental goals and objectives
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Requirements
• Possess 10 or more years of experience in a Controller role or similar capacity
• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems is a must
• Demonstrable knowledge of various accounting functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficient in conducting Auditing activities
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is required
• Experience in Month End Close activities
• Demonstrated ability to lead Process Improvement Initiatives
• Proven skills in improving efficiency within the finance department
• Ability to prepare accurate Financial Statements
• Experience in handling Intercompany Transactions
• Proficient in conducting Consolidations
• Experience in Financial Consolidation is required
• Ability to handle Financial Statements Consolidation
• Familiarity with Expense Allocation processes
• Must have a solid understanding of GAAP Accounting principles
• Demonstrated knowledge of Internal Control systems
• Proven ability in Financial Reporting
