General Purpose:

Support the cooperative, leadership, and the farm practices team with insights gained from analyzing and managing company data. Combine a variety of data analysis methods, use a variety of data tools, and build reports in order to extract insights, solutions, and trends to present into strategic opportunities for the cooperative and DFA’s farmer-owners. Maintain accurate and secure data of DFA’s on-farm programs and ensure compliance is met based on reporting and monitoring progress, and most importantly, through reporting results to stakeholder groups.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical review on the latest science and research of on farming practices and present to internal team

  • Support development and sharing of resources, tools, insights, and news about farming practices with cooperative staff

  • Aid in the development and training to staff on customer relationship management (CRM) tools and other technologies

  • Assess and maintain the accuracy and security of data that is collected from on-farm projects and programs

  • Ensure data is prepared for submitting to on-farm programs across the Cooperative including but not limited to the Farmers Assuring Responsible Management (FARM) program and DFA’s Gold Standard Dairy program

  • Build and develop reports to monitor performance metrics, provide trend reports, and make recommendations to drive optimization and improvement of program development, compliance, and business strategies

  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive solutions

  • Convert challenges and processes into easy-to-understand concepts and communications

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Animal Science, Information Management, Data Science, or related field plus 2 or more years' experience working on data management or farm practices

  • Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Animal Science, Information Management, Data Science, or related field can substitute for relevant experience

  • Experience in reporting, metrics tracking and analysis, and communications

  • Dairy industry experience preferred

  • Certification and/or License – N/A

  • Travel Requirements: 15%-25% (1-2 times per quarter)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft tools. Power BI experience is a plus

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Able to work effectively with management and part of a team to meet targets

  • Able to synthesize, clarify, and simplify abstract topics

  • Able to create visual representations of data and progress

  • Able to work in a high-paced dynamic team environment and work independently

  • Background knowledge in the dairy industry and dairy farm management practices, preferred

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
