Responsibilities
Fleet Maintenance Supervisor - 3rd Shift (10 pm - 6 am)
Supervise 3 technicians managing Vehicle Condition Reports in a maintenance shop under a Maintenance Manager. Oversee preventive maintenance/repair of a fleet, post-collection facility machinery, and container shop equipment. Ensure repairs to trucks (diesel and alternate fuel) and heavy equipment comply with safety standards and regulations. Plan and schedule repairs to minimize downtime and ensure safe, timely work.
Responsibilities:
Direct A, B, C level, and lead technicians to ensure safe, efficient repairs.
Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements.
Conduct shop huddles, fleet walks, coaching, and training; make hiring, termination, and evaluation decisions with management and HR.
Inspect repairs for compliance with safety standards.
Perform Quality Control Inspections; track and resolve issues.
Handle complex diagnostics and road test vehicles when necessary.
Manage inventory control; approve expenses within scope, escalate larger ones.
Maintain knowledge of engine, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems to perform advanced repairs.
Oversee payroll, records, and maintenance tracking via Dossier software.
Requirements:
3 years in heavy equipment maintenance.
1 year in a supervisory role with knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and safety regulations.
