JOB SUMMARY

This is a Global HSE position that has the responsibility to assist with the development and the implementation of the Global HSE Transition program while managing specific divisional project scope, timeline, and resources with minimal supervision. Primarily supporting the LATAM/AMS as well as providing transition program support to the EMEA and APAC divisions.

The candidate will address complex partnering relationships and technical challenges in an innovative manner that demonstrates a long-term perspective on customer requirements and HSE compliance. This individual will provide on-going leadership and direction for these projects from start to finish, assessing risk, implementing mitigation plans, and communicating with key decision-makers.

The position will report into GWS HSE Global Transition Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support/lead new and expanding divisional and global account transitions as well as provide support/leadership in the development of new processes, programs, and associated collateral for CBRE pursuits, sales solutioning and account transition projects, related to HSE requirements.

Execute new and expanding account transitions- globally.

Work directly with the HSE Transition team and future account staff to establish a culture of prevention, protection, and compliance that is driven through effective leadership and accountability from the outset of the account.

Identify emerging HSE scopes to provide CBRE a competitive advantage and develop appropriate project plan to implement.

Participate in Transition Improvement Process (TIP) forum with key stakeholders at the end of the transition.

Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.

Evaluate HSE risk associated with new types of work and collaborate with Risk Management, Country Leads and other business units to determine hazards and mitigations needs.

Provide leadership on the projects and build working relationships with project staff and client safety representatives to ensure on time completion of projects.

Ensure contract obligations are understood and executed, in alignment with CBRE standards, authorities having jurisdiction and transition deliverable are satisfied.

Educate and advise project staff on safety guidelines and policies when appropriate.

Identify and resolve obstacles that may impede transition success; reaffirm team commitments for remaining work.

Other HSE leadership activities as might be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

QUALIFICATIONS

Global program/project management experience including HSE and Quality related management functions

Professional background with systems implementations, re-engineering, and other large/complex projects

Clear understanding and articulation of Safety Management Systems - leadership commitment, accountability, effective communication, auditing, and performance metrics.

Effective organizational, analytical, multi-tasking, time management and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage staff and interact with clients and senior staff.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university. Formal education from accredited institution is the areas of Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Public Health, Engineering, or similar. Minimum of 8 years of related experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential. Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is required.

Experience working in any one or multiples of the following is essential: Chemical processing and refining environments, manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceutical / biotechnology, construction, heavy industry, and facility maintenance and management.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

As required by local authority (if required). Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) - Preferred

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from professionals as well as the general Safety community. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

*Colorado Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the HSE Sr Manager position is $125,000 annually and the maximum salary for the HSE Sr Manager position is $160,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
