In this role your responsibilities will be of a technical nature with decisions made within the limits of general practices, policies and standards. Your work will involve complex manufacturing problems including the need to root cause and follow issues to resolve.
You will be responsible for equipment related to the manufacturing process. You will required to use your independent discernment.
Your responsibility may involve training others and assigning work to a small group of employees.
Other responsibilities will include:
- You will analyze and implement product or machinery designs for the best method for manufacturing processes
- You will propose and evaluate the processes for equipment in assigned area
- Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area
- You will keep regular contact with partners outside the work group
- You will provide direction to small group of technical employees
- You may evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment
+ Provides technical support and direction to other dept and HQ controls engineers, IT and support personnel/skilled trades;
+ Investigates and root cause system and equipment problems and provides technical input on problem resolution;
+ Strong project management skills;
+ Strong communication skills;
+ Develop cost estimates, investment forecasts, business cases, appropriation requests and plans for project activity;
+ Coordinates with area manufacturing engineers on process and equipment planning, including model change, throughput, sourcing, etc.
+ Support GMS and Quality Network implementation initiatives • Utilizes statistical methods for continuous improvement on plant systems
+ Enforces safe work practices as the highest priority and implements objectives for ergonomics, health/safety and housekeeping
+ Maintains good working relationships with peers, hourly employees, union, management, supplier community and interfaces with necessary support functions outside of the assembly plant
+ Develops and monitors planning timetables and projects schedules
+ Coordinates and communicates the development of changes to improve conditions for the assembly process
+ Programming of manufacturing technology
+ Analyzes product, process and technology to determine the best methods of manufacture
+ Assists in the design and building of tools and equipment or recommends improvements to existing processes
+ Assists maintenance pe rsonnel in operation and maintenance of specialized equipment
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
+ Intimate knowledge of automotive tooling and manufacturing assembly processes;
+ Broad industrial controls and automation knowledge as it relates to automotive assembly plant;
+ Advanced project management skills;
+ Highly organized
+ Ability to work under pressure
+ Ability to adhere to strict schedules and budgets
+ Able to work independently and within a team
