Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs assigned preventative maintenance work ensuring all instructions are followed and that each step is executed fully.
• Responds promptly to calls; diagnoses the failure; makes required repairs.
• Performs basic troubleshooting techniques on machines and equipment to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical and control system problems.
• Adheres to safety standards by promoting a safe work environment through attending safety committees, training, and verifying all safety concerns are addressed.
• Works as part of a team when new equipment is to be installed
• Works individually or as part of a team on fabrication projects
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• May be assigned to the industrial maintenance team or to the mechanics shop, depending upon prior experience

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Experience

• Basic mechanical or electrical or hydraulics experience in industrial setting
• Ability to weld preferred (stick or MIG)
• Other
• Good agility and relative physical fitness for climbing on and off rail cars
• Overtime available
