Responsibilities
Providence Medical Group is looking for a full time day shift Patient Service Representative to join our dynamic OB/GYN group!
The Patient Service Representative duties include, but are not limited to:
interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits
schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others
verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issues
greets and checks in patients andles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages
coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing
must be able to: (1) operate a computer to accurately input and retrieve data; (2) communicate with the population served, staff, and providers utilizing age specific techniques.;(3) maintain proficiency in medical terminology; (4) project a positive and helpful attitude.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
previous medical setting/hospital experience, preferred
knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
customer service experience, preferred
high school graduate or GED equivalent, required
