ASTON CARTER JOB ALERT: A well-established company in the Kansas City, Missouri area is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their team! Direct Placement, $65,000-$70,000/year (based on experience). This company aims for at least Four (4) years of experience in a procurement/purchasing, supply chain, or related role and good tenure.
Job Title: Procurement Specialist
Job Description
Analyzes supply and demand data to create new purchase orders and expedite requests to accommodate production schedules. Creates and manages new supplier relationships, negotiates bid packages, monitors pricing fluctuations, and seeks out cost-saving measures. Sources and purchases components for engineering, production, and sales. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs procurement activities and administers purchase orders based on planned orders (MRP) and the scheduled date for builds. Communicates with suppliers on purchase order confirmations, updating due dates in the system for Production scheduling purposes. Initiates discussions between suppliers and respective departments (Production, Receiving, Engineering, Accounting) involving procurement-related issues. Acts as liaison between suppliers and employees. Maintains Vendor database.
Hard Skills
Knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
Knowledge of sourcing and warehouse management practices; RFQs, RMAs, etc.
Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLookup
Proficiency in computer skills
Supply management
Soft Skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to build vendor relationships
Ability to analyze large data sets and think critically through solutions
Ability to multitask
Strong organization skills
Must work well with other employees and be a team player with a positive attitude

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Kansas City, Kansas.
Work Environment
Will be in the office every day from 8-5 in an office setting. benefits package including medical insurance, dental insurance, vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and a 401K. Personal Time Off (PTO) is also included.
