Job Title: Purchasing Coordinator

Job Description

As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for procuring a wide range of materials necessary for precast concrete production. This includes sourcing cement, aggregates, admixtures, reinforcing materials, formwork materials, sealing and curing compounds, and other miscellaneous supplies. You will identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery time, while establishing and maintaining strong relationships with them.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery time.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and resolve delivery or quality issues.

  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Coordinate with the inventory team to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages.

  • Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Conduct regular price comparisons and negotiate contracts for the best possible pricing.

  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and inventory levels.

  • Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and cost analyses.

  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality control teams to understand material requirements and resolve supply-related issues.

  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide insights and updates on procurement activities.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing or construction.

  • Experience using purchasing software such as Sage.

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

  • Proficiency in cost analysis and inventory management.

  • Ability to organize and establish procurement processes in a new role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, construction management, or a related field is preferred.

Work Environment

The position is on-site Monday to Friday. The office is connected to a concrete facility, vehicles may get dust on them. The role offers profit sharing and the opportunity to start in the early stages of a rapidly growing company. While there may not be many opportunities for job title growth, there is potential for increased responsibilities and pay.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00
