General Purpose:
Support DFA Sales in a variety of activities needed to assist in identifying, developing, and maintaining business with customers. Work closely with DFA operating groups and teams with the objectives of delivering customer support, insights, and communication collateral (e.g. reports, presentations, etc.).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Create customer centric solutions that are aligned with DFA strategies to drive demand and sales growth in collaboration with account managers and sales leadership
Build in-depth knowledge of the food industry by monitoring trends and media publications and apply in pre-planning strategies for customer meetings to gain insights
Collect information relevant to targeted customers to create and/or update account plans to focus sales activities on agreed to priorities
Develop and learn consultative selling techniques and apply in customer interactions
Participate in and/or lead team discussions and meetings with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in the interest of continually progressing initiatives
Use Salesforce to manage customers’ information and archive customer interactions including project management, call reports, and various requests
Develop a network across DFA business units and utilize in problem solving and building project pipeline to meet sales growth targets
Utilize sales support software, including Power BI and Salesforce, to assist in gathering and interpreting data to build account plan strategies and business development plans
Travel to customers with the goal of establishing and evolving relationships while learning how DFA can create value within their businesses
Prioritize workload based on team and customer needs to drive maximum value to DFA and customers
Insights:
Gain an understanding of dairy market fundamentals to support sales meetings and build trust with customers regarding market insights
Be a champion of customer insights based on specific customer engagements, and provide leadership in reporting customer insights to broader internal stakeholders as required by insight’s goals/objectives
Contribute to publishing intercompany communications to deliver dairy news and insights across DFA
Participate in various customer and DFA meetings to promote and implement strategy of milk marketing team

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, business administration, food science or related curriculum, or equivalent practical work experience
2-5 years of experience dealing directly with customers either by telephone or in person coupled with sales support experience and/or demonstrated aptitude for a sales account management/internal sales role
Agricultural industry experience – particularly dairy – a plus
Experience in business development or sales is a plus
Certification and/or License – N/A
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems, specifically Great Plains, Salesforce, Excel, Word, SAP
