Job Description
Work closely with the Finance Manager to track spending on capital projects. This position will provide support for the financial and internal control aspects of capital projects by assisting with invoice processing, month-end close and the preparation of financial reports.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Commercial Projects
Perform project spend accounting activities, including month-end close, review of overall spend, and preparation of journal entries
Complete monthly capital and lease balance sheet account reconciliations for Ingredient Solutions projects
Create and maintain bi-weekly actual vs budget report to monitor overall spend for all open capital projects in SAP
Create internal orders in SAP for all locations and update Capital Project SharePoint site with internal order number
Prepare and distribute month-end capital spend reports for strategic projects exceeding $5MM
Hold quarterly meetings with Ingredient Solutions plants to review open projects
Review and approve invoices for strategic projects, as needed
Assist with bi-annual review of open project cleanup
Update and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures
Engage in ad-hoc analyses and reporting as needed to support the growth and development of the business
Fixed Assets
Communicate with plants to ensure projects are submitted monthly for fixed asset additions or quarterly for lease draws
Create journal entries to move project expenses, as needed
Leasing
Obtain monthly lease invoices from vendor database if not sent via email
Create lease invoice payment SAP uploads
Communicate with AP team and bank contacts to resolve any invoice discrepancies

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related curriculum, or equivalent practical work experience (work experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis)
0 to 2 years’ experience in accounting or finance
SAP experience preferred
Capital finance or leasing experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Able to use advanced features in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access and adapt to other software programs needed to perform the tasks of the job
Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
Able to organize time, energy, and resources effectively to achieve goals (i.e., organizational skills)
Able to multitask and set priorities for multiple projects
Able to work independently on projects after a brief explanation of the desired results
Able to take ownership for assigned projects and see through to completion
Analytical skills, including ability to reconcile problematic accounts with unknown transactions
Must be able to read, write and speak English
