Aerotek Stationary Engineer in Kansas City, Kansas
Description
Stationary Engineers will spend all their time in the powerhouse reading meters and diagnosing problems. They will also be opening & closing valves, need to know steam pressure, need to know how to mix/add chemicals to machinery. Operating and maintaining systems and equipment to include all auxiliary systems associated with plant utilities, various loops, and infrastructure required to support plant production and operations. Completing all Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) on all Powerhouse and associated equipment as directed by the Assistant Site Utilities Manager or Site Utilities Manager. Stationary Engineers are responsible to coordinate as a team to effectively provide 24/7 operations to all Plant Utilities Systems with the necessary staff to safely support all operations as required.
As a Skilled Tradesmen, all Stationary Engineers will be engaged in problem solving and resolution geared towards continuous improvement to achieve customer satisfaction, stable operational efficiency, and energy saving initiatives. Stationary Engineers will actively participate in project planning with other Powerhouse hourly and salary employees to enhance overall performance and successful outcome of all projects with their experience and expertise.
All Stationary Engineers will rotate as directed through all job assignments to maintain required skill set levels across all operational, quality, and maintenance functions as directed by management.
Stationary Engineers are responsible for operating all equipment within operational quality standards to comply with all environmental, emissions, ISO, and quality requirements for each system as directed to ensure plant production quality requirements are adhered to, and all state/local conditions are met.
Ensure all items outlined by SOT's are addressed and prioritized through project planning. Review the root cause analysis to evaluate equipment and manpower resource requirements.
Ensure all metrics of the BPD process are followed, tracked, and reported per GM/CFM guidelines from the Level 5 Board to actively support the achievement of the goals established by Level 4 and 3. Ensure all countermeasures are adequate and in place for red items, all goals reflect SMART Targets, and open PPS documents are in place.
Drive and promote CIP’s at all levels of operations and business initiatives. Responsible for ensuring all safety incidents are reported within the appropriate timeframe and contain the level of detail required by the CFM Safety Department.
Attend all PH planning and coordination meetings as directed across a wide spectrum of project assignments to include but not limited to weekend planning, downtime planning, bus outage, etc
Comply with and support growth/progression of all health, safety and environmental programs, including policies and procedure initiatives as set by customer.
Establish, maintain, and support standardized work, ensuring standardized work is being improved upon for accuracy and detail to reflect relevant information of safety, ergonomics, and materials required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School or Technical Trade School
Former military service with machinist mate, boiler mate, or gas trane tech experience
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.56 - $37.56/hr.
