WATTS District Sales Manager in Kansas

The District Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing the sales activities within a specific geographic district for Taft Engineering, ensuring that sales targets for Watts Applied Solutions brands and Taft Engineering represented products and services are met and effectively marketed to the target engineers, contractors, and owners within the geographic district. The District Sales Manager must demonstrate the drive and creativity to dominate current markets, capture new markets and grow sales, while delivering a value differentiator to our existing and new customers.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

· Develop and implement strategic sales plans, sales goals and performance targets aligned with corporate goals.

· Analyze market trends to gauge customer demand, evaluate market size, and establish competitive pricing and discount rates.

· Develop relationships with engineers, contractors, and end-users within the geographic district to effectively sell Taft Engineering and Watts Applied Solutions products and services.

· Strive to become the local subject matter expert in the application, installation, and operation of Taft Engineering and Watts Applied Solutions Products.

· Provide regular sales forecasting updates and discuss sales strategy.

· Identify, train and mentor new sales engineers.

· Stay informed about advancements in product development and evolving market trends.

· Track competitor activity and adjust strategies, as necessary.

· Maintain superior levels of customer satisfaction.

· Foster and sustain strong relationships with key clients.

· Analyze and manage expenses to ensure alignment with budget constraints.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration or engineering preferred or equivalent industry related experience.

· 7+ years superior levels of customer satisfaction in a forward-sales facing role.

· Strong Business Development experience.

· Experience in CRM and Sales related software.

Salary Range: $115,000 - $138,000 per year

Additional compensation: 20% Sales Incentives

MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISION:

This position has no direct reports, but leads teams, directs activities of team members by establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and assessing the work of team members towards goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership abilities.

REQUIRED SKILLS The District Sales Manager role requires a unique set of skills, including leadership, strategic thinking, project management skills, and excelling interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. You must work well in a team environment and be motivated and passionate about technical sales. Most travel will be local, but there would be occasional requirements (<20%) to travel outside of the district to host customers for training and promotional events, as well as sales meetings.
