Summary/Objective:

To ensure seamless day-to-day operations of IT systems by providing first-line support to users experiencing technical difficulties. The IT Level 1 Specialist is responsible for the initial assessment, troubleshooting, and resolution of basic technical issues across the organization. This role is crucial in maintaining high user satisfaction and system reliability by offering timely and accurate solutions to software, hardware, and network problems.

Job Competencies:

The IT Level 1 Specialist must possess strong competencies in customer service and technical support, showcasing the ability to effectively handle first-line support queries with patience and expertise. Key competencies include excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as these are crucial for explaining technical details to non-technical users in a clear and understandable manner. The role requires analytical skills to diagnose issues quickly and accurately, alongside organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, maintaining a positive attitude and supporting colleagues, is also essential.

Job Proficiencies:

The IT Level 1 Specialist must be adept at troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues efficiently and should have a strong grasp of Windows and MacOS operating systems. The ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, is crucial for explaining technical issues and solutions to non-technical users. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions precisely, and skills in documenting technical procedures and outcomes clearly.

Education/Experience:

Candidates for the IT Level 1 Specialist position are expected to have an Associate degree in a closely related field or technical certifications such as CompTIA A+, and Network+ are highly valued, demonstrating a foundational understanding of key IT concepts and practices.

Skills & Knowledge:

We are seeking an IT Level 1 Specialist with at least one year of experience in a help desk or customer support environment. The ideal candidate will have proven skills in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving software and hardware issues efficiently. This role demands a professional who can manage multiple tasks in a dynamic setting while upholding high service standards and clearly communicating technical solutions to non-technical users. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development, adaptability to evolving technologies, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as familiarity with Windows and MacOS environments and basic network configurations. This position is essential for ensuring operational continuity and boosting user satisfaction.

Wage Range: $38,107-$47,634
