We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to play a key role in furthering our mission in our Human Resources area.

Summary/Objective:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping the workforce at Goodwill Industries of Kansas by leading efforts to attract, recruit, and hire top talent. This position is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process while fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce that aligns with Goodwill's mission to provide employment opportunities for all individuals. Through strategic sourcing, employer branding, and partnerships with hiring managers, the Talent Acquisition Specialist ensures the organization is staffed with skilled and motivated individuals who will contribute to the continued success and impact of Goodwill’s programs and services.

Qualifications/Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, along with 5 to 7 years of professional recruiting experience. A proven track record of successfully sourcing and hiring top talent across various roles is essential. The candidate should be well-versed in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment software, with a strong understanding of employment laws and regulations governing the recruitment process.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills are critical, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in developing and executing diversity recruitment strategies. Prior experience in promoting an inclusive work environment is highly preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Develop a comprehensive sourcing strategy for each assigned department to ensure a regular flow of qualified applicants for Goodwill openings. Sourcing strategy will be reviewed and updated with the Director of Human Resources.

  • Source, screen and refer high quality candidates along with coordination of interviews for career opportunities with Goodwill.

  • Generate a flow of resumes and strong pipeline of qualified candidates for critical and repeat positons to quickly meet agency staffing needs.

  • Maintain open communication and meet with assigned customer groups as needed (at least quarterly) to review expectations and seek any recommended process improvements.

  • Review current openings and adhere to best hiring practices including documentation of candidate screening, candidate selection and reference checks.

  • Participate and hold recruiting events and maintain working relationships with Goodwill Hiring Managers.

  • Develop and improve the talent acquition function including job requisitions, the full recruitment process and onboarding.

  • Screen and send qualified candidates to hiring managers. Complete either email and/or phone screening interviews, assisting managers with identifying top candidates to interview in person; complete reference checks, assist with pre-employment background screens and on-boarding as needed.

  • Ensure excellent customer service and timely assistance and response to candidates, Hiring Managers and community agencies is provided.

  • Support recruiting needs aligned with Goodwill’s Strategic Plan and Core Values.

  • Proactively develop and execute best in class sourcing strategies and campaigns to ensure Goodwill is successful at attracting a diverse pool of candidates.

  • Establish and meet monthly recruiting goals and track recruiting results for all locations This includes analyzing recruiting costs for return on investment as well as specific metrics, e.g., average time to fill, average cost per hire, etc. Create and report on key recruitment metrics.

  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting schools, colleges, employment agencies, outside recruiters, media and internet sites;providing organization information, opportunities and benefits. Establish relationships with organizations that serve persons with barriers to employment.

  • Works with Marketing and Development to utilize social media.

  • May travel to store locations within Kansas to assist with hiring as needed and conduct recruiting events.

  • Review resumes and/or applications to select qualified candidates for interviews using an ATS.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations

  • Prepare and distribute job postings using the ATS.

  • Ensure that the internal application process is followed.

  • Post Job Openings with recruiting sources.

  • Interprets transcripts, employment and reference records.

  • Assists Hiring Managers with the ATS as needed.

  • Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time effectively.

  • Work with the Director of Human Resources to prepare offer letters as needed.

  • Work with the Talent Acquisition Assistant to execute Best-in-Class talent acquisition service to Goodwill Industries of Kansas stakeholders.
