This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/jobs/12796631 We need a season Farm Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, dairy equipment, and irrigation systems. We need an employee to assist with these job duties during our crop production season from March until December when equipment are used and repairs are needed.

Job duties include: Calculate bills according to record of repairs made, labor time, and parts used. Clean and lubricate parts. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools. Drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery. Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, engine lathes, and other machine tools. Install and repair agricultural irrigation, plumbing, and sprinkler systems. Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Record details of repairs made and parts used. Repair bent or torn sheet metal. Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Tune or overhaul engines. Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance. Adjust vehicle components according to specifications. Calculate costs of goods or services. Clean equipment, parts, or tools to repair or maintain them in good working order. Confer with customers or users to assess problems. Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair. Fabricate parts or components. Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear. Install machine or equipment replacement parts. Install piping for installation or maintenance activities. Lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning. Maintain repair or maintenance records. Move large objects using heavy equipment. Read work orders or descriptions of problems to determine repairs or modifications needed. Reassemble equipment after repair. Repair defective engines or engine components. Repair pipes to stop leaking. Repair structural components. Repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts. Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts. Service vehicles to maintain functionality. Test electrical circuits or components for proper functioning. Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning. Employer may provide pay increases for performance and experience at employers discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employers discretion. Must be a certified mechanic, diesel mechanic or have an equivalent foreign red seal certification. Require 6 months experience and a regular drivers license.
