80% Overall Project Coordination

  • Performs recruitment, screening, and enrollment of human research subjects

  • Prepares and organizes study materials

  • Assists in preparing IRB regulatory documents

  • Coordinates compensation activities for research subjects

  • Monitors and adheres to research project timelines and procedures

  • Prepares project reports for regular team meetings

  • Oversees students and study staff in relevant project procedures

  • Orders supplies and keeps inventory

  • Manages lab databases

  • Cleans and analyzed project datasets

  • Assists in preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journal publication

20% Administrative Duties

  • Prepares and distributes promotional materials for Cofrin Logan Center events

  • Coordinates and prepares documents for faculty and staff hires

  • Oversees and trains administrative support staff

Required Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED with 4 years of related experience or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related discipline.

  2. Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail as evidenced by application materials.

  3. Experience using computer related software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, SPSS) as evidenced by application materials.

Position Overview:

This position supports research projects and administrative efforts at the Cofrin Logan Center for Addiction Research and Treatment (University of Kansas). Responsibilities include recruitment, screening, enrollment, and data collection from research participants; preparing IRB regulatory documents; overseeing and training research support staff; preparing project reports for regular team meetings; managing participant compensation and lab databases; performing data cleaning and analysis duties; assisting in preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journal publication; maintaining Cofrin Logan Center spaces and office inventories; preparing and distributing promotional materials for Cofrin Logan Center events; coordinating and preparing documents for faculty and staff hires; overseeing and training administrative support staff —a representative summary of responsibilities is presented below; however, successful applicants may perform related duties as needed.

This position is contingent on funding. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins.
