As we continue to grow, we are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Maintenance Technician 2 in our Lawrence, KS location.

A Maintenance Technician 2 conducts troubleshooting repairs and preventive maintenance of simple and complex equipment within the production facility.

SHIFT: Friday through Sunday 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM CST (overtime required as needed)

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Troubleshoots equipment issues in production environment.

  • Troubleshoot and or repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components.

  • Provides support in areas of fabrication, assembly, welding, burning, cutting, pipefitting, and machining.

  • Read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematic and drawings.

  • Work from oral and written instructions.

  • Understand and use manuals and catalogues when ordering parts.

  • Understand and comply with all parts ordering and issuing procedures.

  • Maintains adherence to company policy, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.

  • Assumes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:

  • Troubleshoots equipment issues in production environment.

  • Troubleshoot and or repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components.

  • Work from oral and written instructions.

    TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Diagnose complex equipment failures.

  • Performs complex repairs on equipment.

  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Install and rearrange equipment.

  • Performs work in the areas of fabrication, assembly, welding, cutting pipefitting and machining.

  • Working knowledge PLC and electrical controls.

  • Working knowledge of VFD’s and servo controls.

  • Diagnose electrical systems utilizes electrical schematics.

  • Diagnose hydraulic systems utilizes hydraulic schematics.

  • Diagnose pneumatic systems utilizes pneumatic schematics.

  • Capable of operating production equipment for diagnostic purposes.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extended time on feet.

  • Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination with hand/power tools.

  • Frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).

  • Reporting and clerical duties on a computer and/or tablet.

  • Requires ability to work off ladders, scaffolding and scissors lifts.

  • Requires ability to do extended amounts of walking

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS):

  • Prior experience in a production environment.

  • 5 years’ maintenance experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes.

  • Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical skills.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to operate forklifts and other equipment.

  • High school graduate or equivalent with additional training in mechanical or electrical technology.
