Actalent Microbiology Manager in Lawrence, Kansas
Quality Microbiology Manager - Paying up to $125k/yr.
As a Microbiology Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of pharmaceutical and medical device products. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing technical expertise and leadership in sterilization processes, addressing plant challenges, method development, and project work.
Establishing and managing testing schedules to ensure timely product and material release aligned with business goals.
This involves developing, validating, coordinating, and trending routine and special testing related to environmental monitoring, sterility, endotoxin, and particulates.
Overseeing the pharmaceutical site’s cleaning and disinfection program to maintain control of the cleanroom environment according to company, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
Serving as the site EQ technical lead for internal and external stakeholders, regulatory inspections, and other business needs.
Maintaining certification procedures for test methods and testing personnel.
Supporting Quality Leadership by facilitating testing, qualification, system improvements, and compliance (Change Controls, CAPA, Out of Specification investigations, validation documents, and Standard Operating Procedures).
Ensuring proper microbiological monitoring of plant utility systems through routine trend analysis.
Developing solutions for environmental, particulate, microbial, and sterilization challenges within the site and the QC Lab.
Promoting a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to standards and legal regulations.
Operating in compliance with cGMP, 21CFR, and USP regulatory requirements.
Handling other duties as assigned.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 10 years in a pharmaceutical quality control role within an FDA-regulated GMP environment.
Supervisory/Management Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing tasks effectively.
Urgency and Deadline Management: Strong multitasking skills with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
Communication: Self-motivated, dependable, and skilled in both oral and written communication.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Attention to Detail: Capable of performing accurate work with meticulous attention to detail.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in microbiology or a related science field.
