Amarr, an industry leader in sectional garage doors and part of global opening solutions leader ASSA ABLOY, is searching for a Planning and Scheduling Analyst to plan, manage, and schedule order volume for multiple manufacturing facilities and multiple production lines. This position ensures that production schedules are efficient while meeting or exceeding customer expectations and maintaining lead time.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Schedules orders/loads for production based on manufacturing lead time, in-by/out-by schedule, date pooling model, demand plan, and production capacity.

  • Combines orders into viable truckloads, verifies that all product will fit on the truck, and ensures that logistics are acceptable.

  • Schedules production while maintaining individual department capacities. Includes adjustment of orders to smooth capacity.

  • Processes Expedited sales orders.

  • Creates and processes orders for special-order products. Manually schedules items with longer lead time.

  • Reviews demand for manufactured product that has a safety stock. Calculates requirements and creates work orders based on due dates.

  • Creates and releases production work orders.

  • Publishes Production Schedule to Manufacturing facilities daily.

  • Coordinates production schedule changes between all areas of the Company.

  • Provides delivery information by maintaining the Truck Expedite Table in Navigator.

  • Coordinates with Door Centers and Customer Service regarding special requirements on deliveries.

  • Coordinates with Customer Service Supervisor.

  • Captures order backlog totals daily.

    THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:

  • Schedules orders/loads for production that are consistent with manufacturing lead times.

  • Pairs up orders/loads and verifies that logistics are acceptable.

  • Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements while utilizing available production line capacities.

  • Creates and releases production work orders.

  • Publishes Production Schedule to Manufacturing facilities daily.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS):

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an aptitude for learning and retaining product/policy and procedural knowledge.

  • Individual must be organized, detail oriented, possess strong analytical skills and have the ability to prioritize and execute schedule to meet deadlines.

  • JD Edwards Navigator experience required.

  • Demonstrated success in multi-tasking. Must be able to work well independently, under pressure, and in a fast paced environment.

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years related experience in a production / manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel at minimum. Must be able to create and maintain spreadsheets in Excel.
