Required Qualifications:
PhD in neuroscience, pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related field.
Extensive research experience in molecular and cellular biology.
NOTE: This is a limited term position. To be appointed at the Postdoctoral Researcher title, it is necessary to have the PhD in hand. Appointments made without a diploma or certified transcript indicating an earned doctorate are conditional hires and are appointed on an acting bases not to exceed six months. Upon verification of degree the appointment will be extended to its full duration.

Position Overview:
The Zhao lab, a NGAAD (Neurobiology and Glycobiology of Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease) research group, at the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy ( https://pharmtox.ku.edu/zhao-lab ) is currently seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in investigating brain resilience mechanisms against neurodegeneration and developing therapeutic approaches for sporadic Alzheimer’s disease. The KU School of Pharmacy, located in the heart of the beautiful and historic Lawrence campus, offers an excellent research environment, and has been consecutively ranked nationally among the top 10 in NIH funding since 2001. Moreover, the KU Alzheimer’s Disease Center (ADC), one of only 33 NIA-designated and funded ADCs in the US, provides additional substantial resources for the pursuit of excellence in AD research and care.
The postdoctoral researcher position is a limited term position, with an initial term of one year and possible renewal annually for subsequent years.
