Job Description:
15% - Conduct literature reviews and writing up summary findings to inform research and publications
15% - Collect and analyze policy documents, public hearing testimony, floor speeches, MOUs and other source documents in relation to research objectives
20% - Recruit and interview research participants
20% - Analyze data in collaboration with other research team members and take responsibility to writing up findings
15% - Lead the writing of peer review papers and policy briefs related to research findings
10% Lead community outreach efforts and plan form and support the execution of community meetings and data collection activities
5% - Organize and participate in Governance Lab meetings

Required Qualifications:
Completed Ph.D. in public administration, public policy, or social sciences in related field within 6 months of hire
Experience with collecting and analyzing qualitative data using human subjects compliance standards, as demonstrated by previous work experience.
Previous experience planning and running research meetings and community advisory meetings, as evidenced in application materials.
Work experience that required structuring and executing community outreach activities associated with major research projects, as evidenced in application materials.
Experience in writing academic papers for publication, as evidenced by application materials.
Experience with the issues and current literature pertaining to social justice, antiracism, Indigenous rights and governance, as evidenced in application materials.
NOTE: To be appointed at the Postdoctoral Researcher title, it is necessary to have the PhD in hand. Appointments made without a certified transcript indicating an earned doctorate are conditional hires and are appointed on an acting basis not to exceed 6-months.

Position Overview:
The Post Doc will support research activities associated with two grants. One focusing on tribal governance in relation to emergency management in Northeast Oklahoma; a second relating to health equity, economic and housing insecurity in the Kansas City Metro region.
