UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS

Kansas Athletics and Legends, a global premium experiences company, have announced a comprehensive, long-term partnership focused on reimagining the fan experience as part of the expansive renovation of iconic Allen Fieldhouse and the transformation of David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

Allen Fieldhouse, the premier venue in college basketball, will soon undergo a series of renovations that will include upgraded fan experience amenities and reimagined and expanded premium hospitality spaces. David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium is part of a transformational multi-use development project to create a north gateway entrance to the University of Kansas campus.

As part of the overarching agreement, Legends will work in partnership with Kansas Athletics to optimize revenue generation and curate experiences for all Jayhawk fans. With a data-driven approach, Legends will oversee premium product development, pricing, and sales as part of the projects, as well as manage overall premium seating, ticket sales, annual fund donations, marketing strategy, and business intelligence for all ticketed sporting events.

THE ROLE

The Ticketing & Fundraising Specialist is primarily responsible for driving revenue and hitting sales goals around the season, group, premium ticket, donation, and hospitality packages for Kansas Athletics. This person should be a self-motivated and positive professional. This position is responsible for engaging, servicing and soliciting existing Kansas Athletics donors and ticket holders, while also identifying new prospective donors. This position will be focused on building relationships, servicing all Kansas supporters, driving revenue for Kansas Athletics, and being a positive steward and representative of Legends and the University of Kansas. The Ticketing & Fundraising Specialist will work under the direction and guidance of the Director, Sales, Service, & Retention.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • The candidate will be responsible for offering a full menu of seating opportunities for Kansas Football, Men’s Basketball, and all other ticketed sports.

  • Coordinate and execute sales calls on all potential customers through prospecting, cold callings, and referrals from current customers.

  • Identify and manage a portfolio of new prospects and existing donors to provide excellent customer service and drive revenue through the sales of ticket and donation offerings.

  • Effectively use Salesforce CRM to accurately record all client and prospect interactions.

  • Participate and contribute in weekly sales meetings and training sessions.

  • Work in conjunction with Kansas Athletic Department team members to promote and generate sales on all events while providing a great fan experience.

  • Assist with any administrative ticket functions.

  • Assist with any special projects or duties as assigned by Director, Sales, Service, & Retention.

  • Entertain and nurture relationships with current donors and prospects through creative means including but not limited to: networking events, speaking engagements, prospect sampling at games, seat visits at games, open houses at stadium, and outside meetings

  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours, weekends, events and game days

  • The candidate will be accountable for certain levels of activity (calls made/appointments set) and goals

    QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • 1-2 years sales experience is preferred

  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills

  • Maintain a professional image and positive attitude

  • Serve as a main point of contact for general athletic ticket inquiries that come in through inbound phone calls, email, and social media.

  • Set and conduct in stadium, arena and out of the office sales appointments.

  • Effectively use Salesforce CRM to maintain accurate records of all client and prospect interactions.

  • Reach and exceed individual and team sales revenue goals.

  • Assist with managing and stewarding existing season ticket members and donors

  • Prospect and cultivate new sales leads through creative lead generation methods, as well as follow up on leads provided by partner organization

  • Ability to handle heavy volume of outbound and inbound phone calls and emails

  • Candidate should possess excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Candidate should possess an optimistic team-first attitude, as well as a competitive desire to be the best

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and effectively influence and communication with C-level clients
