Job Description

Volt is seeking a seasoned Application developer with deep experience with the Microsoft stack , including ASP. NET MVC, Web API, Micro services, Entity Framework, C#, SQL, .NET framework 4.5.1 or better. You will be part of a small team that has very aggressive targets in a high pressure environment. You will take direction and tasks from the Senior Application Developer, but will be expected to be a self-starter, willing to dive deep into new technologies and architectures.

Will assist with the analysis of business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply with the Project Delivery Framework in all planning steps. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Additionally, you will document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance software application modules. You will participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to predefined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

  • Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience in software development with a strong emphasis in application design and development for web applications using the Microsoft stack, and SQL database development, and interactions.

  • Experience with web development technologies including HTML5, Bootstrap, Knockout, CSS3, JQuery, AJAX as well as front end design.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and responsive to needs of internal and external customers.

MUST HAVES:

  • Solid experience in Entity Framework, LINQ and heavy JavaScript.

  • Must be conversant with n-tier design using ORMs (with no native database access).

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Any experience with Lucene or Lucene.NET, web farms/load balanced environments.

  • Agile or Iterative development environments, Code control repositories such as Git and/or TFS, experience working in business services IT space.

  • Information Assurance certification in one of the following: GSEC, Security+, SSCP, CISA, GSE, CISSP, GCIH.

  • Must be able to work in fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong organizational ability. Current VA access is highly desirable.
