LEAVENWORTH COUNTY JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Site Manager IOC

DEPARTMENT: Council on Aging

PAY LEVEL: Level 4 Step 6

EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Non-Exempt

SALARY: \$18.77 per hour

SUPERVISOR: Nutrition Coordinator

SUPERVISES: No

PERCENTAGE OF TIME ACCOUNTABILITIES

80% Manages congregate nutrition site

10% Completes daily paperwork

5% Completes participant registration forms

5% All other duties as assigned

SCOPE

This position manages a congregate nutrition site for senior citizens. This person opens the site, greets and interacts

with congregate site participants, coordinates activity schedule with Leisure & Learning Coordinator, serves grab-and-go

and dine-in meals and closes the site ensuring all required activities, building requirements and necessary

documentation are attended to daily. Maintains daily meal reservation sheets and accurately relays daily meal counts to

the nutrition department. This is an intermittent on-call position with no more than 1000 hours per year.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

1. Ability to understand, follow and communicate written and oral directions.

2. Ability to maintain the temperature of the food prior to serving.

3. Ability to clean the food serving area to meet State Health Department guidelines.

HUMAN RELATIONS:

1. Effectively communicate with supervisor, Director and co-workers.

2. Effectively communicate with senior citizens and the general public.

3. Creates a pleasant, fun, and interactive environment for congregate dining.

4. Ability to project a courteous and professional demeanor both on the phone and in person.

ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS:

Complete participant registration forms in accordance with Kansas Department of Aging and Disability UPR-001 guidelines.

Ensure required food safety procedures are followed in accordance with the current Food Code published by KDA,

including food preparation and service policies and procedures and health, cleanliness and hygienic practices (KDADS

4.1.6.B.).

OPENING

1. Start coffee

2. Turn on steam table if applicable.

3. Check arriving food (quantity, temperature) in accordance with the current Food Code (KDAS 4.1.6.C.).

4. Set up dining and serving areas

5. Document and communicate cancellations as they are received.

6. Prepare homebound meals, if applicable.

7. Performs FIFO, first in first out of dry goods

SERVICE

1. Check food temperature at serving time, in accordance with the current Food Code (KDADS 4.1.6.C.).

2. Serve meals at 11:15

3. Make reservations for the next days meal count.

4. Successfully manage complaints and report those to Council on Aging office.

5. Establishes and maintains a game and event calendar with the Leisure & Learning Program Coordinator.

CLOSING

1. Dispose of extra food as mandated by State Reg. 5.155(F)

2. Turn off steam table.

3. C lean all pans and coffee pots.

4. Clean tables and serving areas.

5. Record meals served and ordered each day

6. Inventories and reports supplies to be ordered.

7. Secure all doors, cabinets, etc.

All other duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Work is performed indoor in a modern, smoke free environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS:

High School Degree or equivalent

Ability to successfully relate to seniors and the general public.

Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening as well as a KBI check

ADA/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Vision Adequate vision to be able to drive and perform tasks.

Hearing Adequate for normal conversation with co-workers, supervisor, Director, senior citizens and the

general public.

Speech Must be able to speak and understand English language clearly to provide detailed information

by telephone and in person.
