Responsibilities
Saint John Hospital Rehabilitation Department is looking for a dynamicSpeech Language Pathologist(SLP)to join our team. This is aper diemposition with weekday and weekend hours available. Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) duties include, but are not limited to:
provide coverage for inpatients in the acute care setting
the candidate who fills this position will provide coverage for hospital inpatients in the acute care setting
responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician
90%-95% of our referral are swallow related; we do some cognitive/speech evaluations and treatment as well
assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department
weekend shift is an on-call shift on Saturday 8:00a - 9:00a with call-back pay if called in
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
graduate of an accredited college or university with Bachelor's in speech therapy, required
licensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology
MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology, preferred
one year of experience with swallow assessment and treatment in an acute care hospital setting, preferred
one year of experience in acute care, preferred
current BLS for healthcare provider's certification upon hire and maintain current
