Job Description

This position provides administrative support to the Senior Vice President for Health of the Public and Interprofessional Activities, including the annual budget process for the Senior VP’s job codes (general operating, interprofessional and global health). This position coordinates all activities including some meeting plan tasks related to the AAFP’s Delegation to the AMA and other organizations as opportunities arise. This position is the primary interface among the Senior VP‘s office, the three presidents and the EVP/CEO. Possible 12 days out-of-town travel per year.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

Associate’s degree or through equivalent work experience, plus a minimum of six years related work experience. Previous work experience with Executive level staff and Board of Directors preferred. Knowledge of budgeting, and financial reports helpful; and the ability to develop knowledge and understanding of structure and function of various liaison entities and interactions needed. Strong administrative skills including scheduling group meetings – both live and virtual – and associated documents, arranging travel itineraries, handling correspondence; ability to compose documents related to governance and policy; and the ability to create meeting summaries, minutes, etc., from meeting discussions. Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and Outlook required. Candidates need to be flexible to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions; strong organizational skills; attention to detail; strong interpersonal and professional customer service skills essential. Performance of duties may require occasional overtime including evenings and weekends working at meetings.
