Optiv Manager, Income Tax in Leawood, Kansas

The Manager, Income Tax will be responsible for domestic and foreign income tax accounting, compliance, mergers and acquisition planning, and research projects. The ability to adapt in a versatile environment and continuously improve processes will be essential for the candidate.

How you'll make an impact

  • Prepare and review income tax provision calculations and journal entries

  • Reconcile and analyze tax balance sheet and income tax accounts

  • Facilitate and review outsourced income tax compliance and tax incentive projects

  • Assist with domestic tax matters relating to the global business, including FDII, BEAT, GILTI and similar calculations

  • Manage federal, state, and foreign tax audits and work with consultants to maximize compliance

  • Conduct tax research and document tax positions

  • Assist with transaction-based projects, including due diligence, planning, structuring and integration

  • Develop and implement process improvements to streamline tax functions

  • Effectively communicate with all levels of personnel, across functions within the finance organization and with external service providers

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related fields of study required

  • Master’s Degree in Taxation preferred

  • Minimum 8 years of income tax experience with a public accounting firm and/or a corporate tax department with at least 3 years in a supervisory role

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

  • International tax experience preferred

  • Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment

  • Strong analytical, communication, and accounting skills

  • Ability to prioritize competing projects and meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment
