Job Description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Manager, Product Marketing Strategy (Education) is responsible for defining business/marketing plans and the strategic roadmap that will meet or exceed the organization’s non-dues revenue objectives/goals for continuing medical education. Develop, manage, implement, and monitor the success of integrated strategic marketing plans and tactics targeted to appropriate audiences—this to include both B2C and B2B marketing approaches. Provide collaborative and marketing support to the assigned Business Areas and/or products within the Academy. This position will report to the Director, Product Marketing Strategy and will be responsible for supervising two team members who provide product marketing support for go-to-market launch and promotion.

Specific aspects include:

  • Work collaboratively with Education stakeholders to establish a strong understanding of the Academy’s educational objectives, competitive/market environment and segment needs.

  • Create a multiyear business plan and strategic roadmap to drive product evolution/innovation and meet/exceed defined revenue projections.

  • Develop and deploy annual marketing plans including marketing strategy, messaging, tactics, timing and budget.

  • Manage and mentor direct reports to create, implement and assess tactical plans to meet or exceed business goals and objectives. Analyze existing marketing strategies to identify new opportunities.

  • Collaborate with other members of the Marketing + Communications team to develop compelling and targeted creative that is strategically sound and delivers the desired business results.

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and track product/marketing success. Analyze data to make informed decisions and optimize product performance.

  • Seek and evaluate new product/program opportunities on a regular basis to drive innovation and growth.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, product marketing or other related field plus at least six years of related Education Product Marketing work experience. MBA preferred.

  • Ability to ask meaningful questions and effectively probe to uncover/understand business needs and opportunities. Proven track record of turning these insights into plans and result-oriented action.

  • Proven history as effective people/team management.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams to successfully achieve results.

  • Ability to successfully influence at all levels of an organization and to make presentations to a multitude of audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.

  • Effective time management skills, problem solving abilities and the ability to multi-task.

  • Self-starter with heightened sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
