QPS Employment Group Mig Welder in Leawood, Kansas
Hours: Monday-Friday (Saturday) 7am-5pm
Skilled MIG Welder with a proven ability to deliver precise, high-quality welds under tight deadlines, completing a month-long project with exceptional craftsmanship and efficiency. Must be adept at interpreting blueprints, ensuring structural integrity, and maintaining a safe, productive work environment. This is a temporary role for a company in New Century, KS.
MIG Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Perform MIG welding on metal cassettes according to specifications, blueprints, and work orders - Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, or cutting as required before welding - Assemble and secure components in preparation for welding - Conduct precise welds to join, reinforce, or repair metal cassettes - Inspect finished welds for quality, strength, and alignment to meet company standards - Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently - Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of welding equipment - Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) - Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines - Maintain a clean and organized work environment
MIG Welder Requirements: - Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs regularly - Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and crouching in various positions - Ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights as needed - Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise welding - Tolerance for exposure to heat, welding fumes, and loud industrial environments - Visual acuity to inspect welds and read blueprints or technical drawings - Ability to wear appropriate PPE, including welding helmets, gloves, and protective clothing, for extended periods - Proven experience as a MIG Welder, preferably in cassette fabrication or similar applications - Proficiency in MIG welding techniques, with a strong understanding of metal properties and welding equipment - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings - Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work - Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in welding - Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy materials for extended periods - Welding certifications (e.g., AWS, ASME) are a plus
