We are currently seeking a Senior Marketing Specialist on our Business Insurance team in Overland Park, KS to work directly with our Director of Marketing, Producers, and Client Executives in the placement of new business and remarkets of existing business. Strategy skills with the internal team, strong negotiation skills with carriers, and overall desire to win are a must in this position.

We will count on you to:
PLACEMENT OF NEW BUSINESS IN DESIGNATED VERTICAL(S)
+ Participate with team in pre-strategy meeting to create innovative ideas and marketing strategy to winning new and retaining renewal clients.
+ Input data into management system and creates Acord applications as needed.
+ Prepares standardized statement of values and specifications, loss records and summary reports, etc. for submission.
+ Ensures a complete & equal submission sent to carriers including all appropriate underwriting material.
+ Uncover potential coverage issues and additional sales opportunities.
+ Track, collect and analyze quotes and forms, comparing and reviewing to existing client insurance and risk programs.
+ Prepare proposal and participate in presentation as requested.
+ Responsible for binding coverage as directed by client, update management system with sold coverage, assist with account transfer to client executive.
+ Follow all workflow, process and compliance procedures.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES NECESSARY TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED ROLE
+ Meet with insurance carrier representatives, learn appetites and develop strong relationships with underwriters.
+ Use of carrier online systems for quoting, obtaining loss runs and other as necessary.
+ Knowledge and use of insurance industry outlets, such as ReferenceConnect, AM Best, IRMI and MMA internal outlets.
+ Keeps abreast of changing risk and insurance market conditions.
+ Demonstrate MMA's core values in interactions with peers, clients and carriers.
PURSUE A PROGROM OF PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
+ Participate in learning initiatives for self as required in the corporate learning program (MMAU).
+ Complete continuing education required for maintaining licensing and obtaining designation(s) with the approval of supervisor.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES NECESSARY TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE ROLE
+ Any other duties as assigned.
What you need to have:
+ College degree preferred, at minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Minimum of five years of experience working in customer service commercial lines insurance for a broker/agency, independent agency preferred.
+ Detailed with excellent organizational and time management skills.
+ Prior experience and success in managing change in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to prioritize and work with a high sense of urgency.
+ Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management, peers and insurance carriers.
+ State Property/Casualty license required.
+ Proficiency in the use of MS Office software.
