Job Description

The Program Strategist is responsible for cultivating and leveraging external relationships to retain and generate non-dues revenue that achieves value for the AAFP and its members. This position will lead the development and management of AAFP’s affinity programs including customer acquisition, marketing strategy, communication planning, program implementation and service delivery. This person will manage the overall experience with the programs and ensure the direction is consistent, and work throughout the AAFP to ensure that the value proposition is understood, embraced and implemented. This includes working with business leads, senior management, and key internal stakeholders to ensure continual impact and improvement. This position is responsible for growing the total number of businesses participating in AAFP’s affinity programs and annual program revenue.

This position will also manage and maintain our 3rd party vendor relationships including AAFP CareerLink, Mailing List Rental and SmartBrief to ensure quality programming and exceptional customer service. Approximately 15-20 days travel annually.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree or knowledge acquired through equivalent work experience, plus a minimum of four years related work experience. Experience with contract negotiation and coordination; business promotional writing; spreadsheet software; marketing/sales training helpful; customer service; and budgeting/accounting skills. Ability to work independently, effectively organize work, work with frequent interruptions and adjust quickly to changing priorities. A professional and highly collaborative attitude is essential. Occasional long hours, and extensive movement throughout meeting facilities are required.
