Our clients include several hundred insurance and reinsurance companies as well as brokers, banks, asset managers, hedge funds, regional and local governments, and multilateral agencies.

The Product Management team at Moody\'s is responsible for driving new and existing products, managing them from initial concept to successful delivery and market adoption. These products help insurers better understand catastrophic events and create a more resilient and sustainable risk strategy.

The Role

Moody\'s is hiring a Product Manager to oversee our global specialty vulnerability models and exposure data products. This position will focus on the development agenda and drive commercial success of these products that support our core catastrophe Moody\'s RMS modeling solutions.

This is a highly visible role, involving collaboration with a wide range of Moody\'s teams including sales, marketing, client success, model product management, engineering, and software development. You will engage with clients and prospects to define and support these products to ensure a view of risk for the specialty insurance lines, for a wide range of catastrophe perils that cover the globe.

The ideal candidate for this position will be hands-on, comfortable working with highly technical, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment and be very client-oriented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand risk management needs of carriers across a range of general insurance and specialty insurance lines of business.
  • Discover and prioritize market requirements for a uniquely specialized areas of insurance (Inland Marine, specie, industrial risks) and work closely with clients to understand their business objectives.
  • Own the commercial success for the specialty and exposure product lines.
  • Present to and engage in business and technical discussions with Moody\'s clients and prospects regarding model features, methodology, and usage of models/data within Moody\'s solutions.
  • Problem solve to develop solutions to client inquiries that require subject matter expertise
  • Identify new market opportunities
  • Coordinate with other product managers of other models, data, and applications to ensure market requirements are addressed
  • Enable the sales team and support sales cycles, and educate other colleagues and stakeholders about product value proposition.
  • Coordinate with various other groups including marketing, consulting, support, and documentation teams
  • Present on and evangelize for specialty insurance solutions at conferences and events
  • Advocate for product management best practices and product improvements
  • Work with remote and local teams to deliver solutions and support clients

\ Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s or higher degree in one of the following disciplines or a related field: natural sciences, mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, or actuarial science
  • 10+ years\' experience in global insurance and reinsurance industry, including 5+ years with specialty insurance lines and/or exposure data products
  • 5+ years\' experience in a client-facing, consulting, or analytical role
  • 5+ years\' experience working with catastrophe risk models
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and written skills
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
  • Deep knowledge of the application of catastrophe models in the insurance industry. Experience with RMS products is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to synthesize product requirements clearly within market and product requirements documents and market requirement documents (PRD & MRD)
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with multiple engineering and field groups
  • Willingness to learn new concepts and technologies
