Conduent is looking for a polished, energetic Senior Manager of External Communications to lead and implement public relations and media outreach activities to elevate awareness of its Business Process Solutions business. As a key member of the marketing and communications team, you will report to the Senior Director of Communications and work closely with cross-functional teams as well as our PR agency to generate measurable and sustainable results through a variety of communications strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing external communications strategies that support Conduent's objectives

  • Ensuring a BPS communications plan is synchronized with overall corporate communications plan

  • Performing as a skilled writer and verbal communicator

  • Drafting press releases, media pitches, blog posts, client communications

  • Identifying new press opportunities, and coordinating outreach and follow--up

  • Using the news agenda and trends to jump on key awareness opportunities for our business with pitches, creative news releases and campaigns

  • Regularly pitching/interacting with the media

  • Positioning management team as thought leaders in the marketplace

  • Securing speaking opportunities for senior leaders and GMs

  • Developing and executing on campaigns that move the needle

  • Handling reactive PR issues that contribute to the perceptions of our brand and the business unit

  • Collaborating with the digital team to drive awareness in social media channels

  • Collaborating with internal communications team to share ideas and synchronize on announcements

  • Collaborating with and supporting the marketing team on broader initiatives (events, campaigns, etc.)

  • Tracking and measuring success of activities

Data Analysis and Performance Tracking:

About 20 percent of the manager's time will be dedicated to advancing the External Communications department's systems and processes for tracking and reporting performance metrics for brand awareness, media coverage and reputational issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 8+ years in communications, preferably with the focus on public sector PR

  • Proven experience in traditional media relations and digital media communications

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Creative thinker (think outside the box)

  • Completing high-quality work quickly and accurately

  • A strong business sense

  • Quickly grasping and clarifying complex industries, products and services in a compelling way that's understandable to a wide range of external audiences

  • Key relationships with top tier media outlets and trades a plus

  • PR experience in B2B and BPS a plus

  • A background in lead generation a plus
