The Automation Engineer is responsible for all aspects of assigned projects. They will support the Engineering Staff with technical and developmental leadership. In addition, this position provides coverage for the Engineering Manager as needed.
Project Management of smaller scope and support projects for assigned customers.
Manage, develop and deepen relationships to create partnerships with new and existing customers.
Provide a consultative approach that delivers the highest level of account management services.
Ability to perform billable consulting services to partner with our customers.
Identify opportunities and develop strategies with customers to create a win-win partnership.
Advocate to insure quality customer satisfaction.
Management duties, to include creation of business plans, staffing projections, and sales goals.
Assists with development of project schedules, including task codes, and budget on projects.
Key in developing the technical and leadership skills of the other engineers.
Plans and coordinates technical design and implementation of project work.
Daily responsibilities include solutions implementation and support of the project team objectives.
A proven track record in engineering leadership.
Implements standard engineering practices and supplies detailed documentation upon project
This position demands a team player approach to project execution.
Perform other duties as required.
Experience and Education Requirements:
A BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering).
Minimum 10 years of related experience, 5 of which are in a process manufacturing industry.
Proven track record in automation engineering and project management leadership.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Experience in Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Specialty Chemical Industries is desired.
This position requires approximately 20% of travel, including air travel, across the US, and potentially international travel.
Valid driver’s license and passport required.
Cannot appear on the US FDA Debarred Individuals List.
Regular office environment with exposure to moderate noise.
Must be able to independently work in/navigate around construction sites.
Must be able to independently work in/navigate around Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and Specialty Chemical manufacturing facilities, to include exposure to chemicals, strong smells, loud noises, extremes of temperature, and PPE.
Ability to travel (which may include driving for extended periods of time).
Ability to sit for extended periods of time, ability to input data into computer utilizing hands to finger to tab to different fields to input data.
Ability to answer telephone and talk and hear other party.
Ability to view computer screen, close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
