Global Payments, Inc. Business Intelligence Data Analyst/Architect in Lenexa, Kansas


TouchNet, a Global Payments Company, is seeking a data analyst/architect with experience in the Business Intelligence space to join our growing team! In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with various domain experts and leading the development of a new advanced reporting product. This position reports to the Manager of Solutions Analysis in Product Development.

Job Details:

Location: Office located in Lenexa, KS. If not local, must be willing to relocate to work on-site.


  • Lead the development of a new BI/analytics reporting product, including requirement development, analysis, data modeling, task management, and implementation.

  • Collaborate with product managers, solution analysts, operations, development managers, software architects, security team and software engineers regarding schema design and best practices in support of data analysis

  • Work directly with cloud architecture and dev ops resources on data delivery pipeline development

  • Adhere to the highest standards to ensure the security, reliability, and performance of our applications

  • Identify, plan, and guide projects across teams to achieve objectives

  • Collaborate with architects to develop standards and document data design

  • Participate in the software development life cycle utilizing Agile Scrum methodology

  • Limited on-call work hours; work-life balance is a priority at TouchNet

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years experience with database design and analytics

  • Experience working with Product stakeholders to to understand operational reporting, audit trail and business intelligence needs and translating to specific, technical requirements

  • Proficient with OLAP databases, Data Warehousing, and ETL

  • Familiarity with cloud based Data Lake and Analytic reporting

  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and cloud data services

  • Strong SQL skills, DDL and DML as well as data migration techniques and tools

  • Understanding of best practices including data security

  • A passion for learning new technologies

  • Ability to work well within a team

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

  • Bachelor degree completed or in the works (Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business/CIS or related) or relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Seven years of experience in database design and analytics

  • Strong experience with OLAP databases, Data Warehousing, and ETL

  • Expertise with cloud based Data Lake and Analytic reporting

  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and Looker

  • Proficient with NoSQL databases and cloud data services

  • Proficiency with Database Administration of an RDBMS, such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL

  • Automated deployment and testing techniques

  • Working knowledge of various data access technologies such as JDBC, Hibernate, JPA

  • Experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, Banner and Colleague or similar

  • Experience working with higher education institutions

  • Understanding of PCI compliance

  • Payment industry/financial transaction experience

  • Agile methodology
