We have a current opening for a Chef Manager at one of our business and industry caf accounts in Overland Park, KS. Company Kitchen serves much more than just great food at work. We Nourish Your Culture. This position is responsible for overseeing all culinary functions for corporate dining account. You will manage and lead a team of associates and oversee all safety and sanitation as it pertains to the account. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday serving breakfast, lunch and providing catering for the account. Responsibilities:Purchasing and managing inventory.Plans menus and establishes portion sizes and standards of service for all menu items.Controls food cost by following purchasing specifications, product storage requirements, recipe standards and waste control procedures.Ensures that during food preparation, quality standards are maintained and kitchen trained on presentation techniques and retention of nutrients.Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment by establishing cleaning and stock rotation schedules, refrigeration temperature control points, and other sanitary controls.Trains kitchen staff in safe operating procedures in using equipment, utensils, and machinery as well as tasks related to food production, storage, and service. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. Performs a wide variety of administrative duties associated with operating a corporate dining account.Qualifications:Five (5) years of experience as a chef in a restaurant, catering or corporate dining facility.Degree from a postsecondary culinary arts training program or Bachelor's degree in Restaurant Management, Nutrition or Hospitality Management preferred.Minimum of three years previous food service management experience in a corporate dining facility required.Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively direct kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills (able to speak clearly and listen attentively to kitchen team members, dining room staff, and guests.)Display strong organizational and delegation skills.Able to display sound decision making and strategic thinking.Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office applications.Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods up to four (4) hours in length without a rest period.
