Actalent Construction Materials Technician in Lenexa, Kansas
Job Title: Construction Materials TechnicianJob Description
Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor’s representatives, and others regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results. Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis. Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas. May assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites while adhering to strict safety standards.
Responsibilities

Adhere to strict safety standards.
Essential Skills
Experience in concrete, soil, construction labor, and landscaping.
Knowledge of concrete inspection, aggregate testing, concrete testing, materials testing, asphalt, and soil testing.
Familiarity with NUKE GAUGE, Nuclear gauge, and Nuclear density gauge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
6+ months of outdoor field work experience (preferred construction experience).
High School diploma required.
Preferred associate degree in construction, engineering, geology, or a related field.
Clean driving record.
Work Environment
The testing will be done at the job site and then the documentation will be done in the office. Some lab testing will be done in their lab in Lenexa. The work environment consists of 75% fieldwork and 25% office work. The candidate will be working in small teams ranging from 1-3 people depending on the job requirements. The culture of the office is a 'can do' attitude. When work is slow, you will find something to do to stay busy. The dress code is boots, jeans, and company-provided attire.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
