Children's Hospital Association Content Manager in Lenexa, Kansas

Where You’ll Work

This position is based in our Lenexa, Kansas office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What You’ll DoThe CHA Communications team is growing! This new position will report to the Director of Communications creating high-quality content for CHA’s communications channels.

  • Brainstorms, pitches, creates, writes, and edits content such as reports, case studies, white papers, articles, and other content types that fulfill enterprise-wide editorial needs in key topical areas; source and produce compelling, engaging content in long- and short-forms that achieves communications objectives.

  • Aligns overall organizational strategies and objectives by developing informative and useful content for a variety of channels and deliverables.

  • Translates complex topics and highly technical language into conversational and compelling content without sacrificing accuracy for clarity.

  • Collaborates with or interviews subject matter experts (including colleagues, children’s hospitals within our membership, partner organizations, and industry experts) to brainstorm, develop and produce content.

  • Uses knowledge of the health care industry to connect key concepts or deliverables for children’s hospital audiences.

  • Leads the development of regular e-newsletters for our audience comprised of individuals within children’s hospitals and health systems or internal employee audiences as assigned.

  • Supports the needs of other marketing and communications projects and team members as needed.

  • Follows Associated Press and CHA style guidelines, ensuring enterprise-wide communications adhere to these standards.

  • Uses project management principles and applications to create project plans and meet deadlines; manages multiple projects simultaneously and meets agreed-upon deadlines and project plans.

Required Experience:

What You’ll Bring to CHA

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field required.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in journalism or communications.

  • Writing experience related to health care, science, or technology preferred.

  • Exceptional writer and storyteller with a portfolio of work featuring a broad scope of writing skills.

  • Ability to interact with executives, managers, and content experts to translate their knowledge and insights into compelling content for key audiences.

  • Excellent grammar, proofreading, and editing skills; mastery of Associated Press style.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and competing priorities and adapt to change.

  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Sitecore.
