Growing design-build manufacturer in the Overland Park, KS area is seeking a Design Engineering Manager to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have excellent presentation skills, previous management experience in manufacturing and a background in fluid/hydraulics or wind dynamics. Design experience with Inventor highly preferred. The Design Engineering Manager will oversee a team of 4 direct reports. Previous supervisory experience required. Occasional travel may be required, less than 15%. Excellent benefits, corporate culture and profit sharing!

responsibilities:
Oversee the activities of the 4 employee Design Engineer Group to create 3D models and for new product designs and as well as accurate drawings for production
Oversee and participate in the development of mechanical, hydraulic, power transfer and structural designs, and the development of supporting company documents
Provide support for Manufacturing, Sales, Field Service, and other Departments within the Company and write/revise maintenance manuals.
Requirements:
B.S. in engineering from an accredited university, Mechanical Engineering preferred
5+ years of management experience in manufacturing
Experience in product development and manufacturing systems - hydraulic/ computational fluid dynamics (FEA/CFD) and MathCAD experience desired
Excellent communication/presentation skills required
Inventor/AutoCAD proficiency
Some travel required, very minimal, less than 15%.
